Kansas USSSA Basketball

Host a USSSA Event

For Tournament Directors and Event Operators, USSSA is extending an invitation to join an expanding national organization. In 2008, USSSA Basketball had 10,000+ teams sanctioned for participation in various leagues, qualifying tournaments, and Regional and National Championship events.

Kansas USSSA is currently looking for tournament directors and event operators to host USSSA events. Every event is a State and National Championship qualifying event. If you are interested in hosting a USSSA event, please contact B.J. Larson at 913-207-6871 or by email at bj@playmsp.com.

USSSA

Advantages of the USSSA Program

USSSA.com/ISTS Menu

  • Comprehensive team and event management website dedicated to all things USSSA.  This website can be used to help manage your team’s information including official roster, scores and events (entered by the tournament director), team photo, team message board, and statistics entered into a national database and compared against events from across the nation.
  • The USSSA.com website is also a great ally to tournament and league managers.  This website can be used to track entries and payments, schedule your events, and post results and standings.  These results and standings are automatically entered into the national database for State and National rankings.

Multiple Levels of Competition

  • USSSA offers multiple divisions of play for all events, including National Championship Events.  The Division I level (top level of play) was the home of athletes on some of the best teams in the nation, such as Greg Oden and Mike Conley.  More importantly, there are opportunities for teams to find balanced competition with the creation of Division II and Division III (rec level teams).

Post-season Opportunities

  • USSSA offers multiple levels of qualifying and Post-Season Championship Opportunities:
    • State Championships:  Kansas USSSA offers State Championship events in all age groups, and all levels of competition: Division I, Division II, and Division III.
    • National Invitational Tournament Events:  These events are Regional Championship Events that are offered at multiple venues across the country.  Kansas City will host one of these events in the Summer of 2009.
    • National Championship Events:  Annually, Indiana (boy’s) and Florida (girl’s)  host the USSSA National Championship tournaments.  These events are hosted for Division I and Division II teams.  Multiple Division III National Championship events are hosted on a regional basis, giving USSSA the ability to provide a National Championship experience with balanced competition for all teams.

League and Facility Insurance

  • Each event that is sanctioned (with all teams and officials sanctioned) is provided at no cost, a liability policy in the value of $2,000,000.  Further insurance, including medical insurance for each team is also available.  For more in-depth information on insurance coverage available to you as a director, please go to www.usssa.com and read all applicable brochures.

Team Insurance

  • Lawsuits against players, coaches, sponsors, volunteers, and league officials are increasing at an alarming rate. Play with peace of mind knowing you will be covered by one of the best sports liability programs available.  Coverage is available for games, practices, team meetings, award banquets, and fund-raisers.
  • The USSSA general liability policies provide $2,000,000 per occurrence of valuable general liability protection. Coverage is provided for bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury claims for which you are legally obligated.
  • If an Additionally Named Insured is required for a practice facility, this can be added by USSSA at no additional cost

National Program Backing & Support

  • USSSA nationally is the largest multi-sport sanctioning organization with over 5 million total members.  Basketball alone has over 10,000 teams sanctioned nationwide.  The USSSA.com/ISTS system ties all teams together nationally with the original point tracking system.
